Boeing Defence Australia is looking for skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join the P-8A Poseidon program at RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia. This is a full-time, onsite permanent role in the Trade / Operations category, built for hands-on work on avionics and structures. As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be hands-on with maintenance, modifications, servicing, inspections, testing and fault-finding on aircraft systems. You’ll work closely with the MRO team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently while staying compliant with regulatory requirements. You’ll also uphold quality assurance procedures and meticulous documentation, and you’ll communicate clearly with Boeing, customers and industry partners. A focus on Environmental Health & Safety helps keep you and your teammates safe on site.

Hands-on maintenance for the P-8A Poseidon program

In this role you’ll be hands-on with maintenance, modifications, servicing, inspections, testing and fault-finding on aircraft systems as part of the P-8A team. You’ll collaborate with the MRO crew to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, and you’ll help guarantee compliance with DASR Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) regulations while keeping thorough documentation. Communication with Boeing, customers and industry teams is essential, and you’ll contribute to the quality assurance procedures and the operating procedures that govern aircraft maintenance. A safety-first mindset supports your daily work and the wellbeing of all personnel on site.

What you’ll need and what helps

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills with a focus on either avionics or structures
  • Be an Australian citizen to meet Defence security requirements
  • Hold a current driver’s licence

Pay, perks and practical details

The role offers a competitive remuneration package under Boeing Defence Australia’s Enterprise Agreement. Relocation assistance options are available where required, and there are various leave options including Flexible Paid Parental Leave with up to 32 weeks, two weeks of paid Defence Reservist Leave, and Purchased, Cultural, Volunteer and Study leave.
