People Systems Team Lead
FoodstuffsFoodstuffs North Island, the co‑operative behind New World, PAK’nSAVE, Gilmours and Four Square, is recruiting for a People Systems Team Lead to join the Foodies family in Mangere, on site. With more than 320 stores and over 27,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Māui, the co‑op’s People & Capability team is focused on creating modern, data‑driven experiences that support people, leaders and customers. The People Systems function is a core part of making that happen.
The Employee Experience reset is underway across the co‑op to simplify how people and payroll operate, modernising systems and streamlining processes so teams from stores to distribution centres and the Support Centre can get things done more efficiently. The People Systems Team Lead will bring both strategic and hands‑on leadership to this HR technology landscape, guiding a specialist team while shaping governance, prioritisation and ongoing improvements. Reporting to the Head of People Systems, you’ll collaborate with IT, Product and programme teams to help define the future HR technology roadmap and deliver meaningful outcomes during a period of significant transformation that touches more than 27,000 Foodies.

Steering people systems across the co‑op
In this role you’ll lead a team of People Systems product specialists, providing direction, prioritisation and capability uplift to help the group move faster and smarter. You’ll work closely with IT, Product and programme teams to shape the People Systems roadmap and ensure successful delivery of initiatives that improve the employee and leader experience. Governance and continuous improvement will be a cornerstone as the systems landscape evolves, stays compliant and remains fit for purpose. You’ll also champion opportunities to apply AI, automation and digital tools to enhance how people interact with technology. Across Support Centre, Supply Chain and store operations, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor, balancing business needs with sustainable technology solutions.
What you’ll need to bring

- Experience leading and developing People Systems, HRIS or business systems teams
- Strong expertise working with enterprise platforms, SAP SuccessFactors is preferred
- Experience coaching and developing specialist team members
- Solid understanding of HR, payroll and people processes
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across complex organisations
- Confidence partnering with both business and technical teams to translate needs into practical solutions
