NMC Healthcare is seeking a full-time onsite Phlebotomist in Dubai. The ideal candidate has an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, at least two years’ phlebotomy experience, and a current DHA license to practice in Dubai (plus a license from your country of origin). Fluent English is required, Arabic is a plus. Expect duties from patient identification and explaining procedures to performing venipunctures, managing specimen collection, maintaining clean blood collection rooms, stocking supplies, clerical tasks, and incident reporting, with flexibility to rotate shifts. Phlebotomists are health care professionals who have been trained to collect patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and by micro collection techniques. May be rotated through the various shifts, collect sample from hospital departments, guide patient’s how to collect urine/stool/sputum/semen samples or other samples

1. Identifies the patient - comparing patient information on the requisition to the patient’s identification before venipuncture is performed.

   1. Explain the sample collection procedure to patient/parents before collecting sample.

   2. Performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently.

   3. Must have the complete knowledge about which color top tube to use and the volume of blood needed - knows test requirements, assists in Clinical Laboratory as needed.

   4. Responsibilities include bleeding time tests, blood cultures, blood samples collection and look after the blood collection room requirements and maintain the cleanliness and decorum the blood collection rooms.

   5. Stock the laboratory full of consumables / supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts.

   6. Ensure all of the trays and tools used are clean and sanitized.

   7. Perform clerical duties such as filing, aiding technologists and collecting data.

   8. Complete reports when there are hazardous incidents and consult with the laboratory supervisor for further direction 

   9. Phlebotomists deal with complications that may arise from improperly drawn blood, patient allergies, or other patient conditions. 

   10. Sample receiving, attending calls and queries, send-out preparation and referral lab results follow-up and attach/upload to HIS.

1. Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

   1. At least two (2) years of Medical Laboratory experience especially in the field of phlebotomy.

   2. Currently licensed in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai UAE.

   3. Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
