Dubai, AE

Egis Group is inviting a Planning Engineer to join its Dubai team for on-site work focused on maintenance, roads and infrastructure projects. The role is a full-time position based in Dubai, and the right person will bring solid planning experience in large-scale infrastructure, with a track record in the UAE. If you enjoy coordinating with engineers, site teams and authorities to keep programs on track, this could be a good fit.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and bring at least three years of planning experience, with a minimum of two years in the specific role on projects of similar size and complexity in the UAE. You should have worked on at least two Dubai-based projects in the last three years, speak fluent English, and have a strong working knowledge of Dubai’s authorities’ procedures and standards. The role centers on preparing schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery in line with client and authority requirements.

In this Dubai-based, onsite role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep projects aligned with the baseline plan, while also addressing delays and reporting to management and clients. A hands-on planner who can balance data with practical site realities will thrive here.

Day-to-day cadence in the field

Your main task is to develop, update, and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 as the core tool, with MS Project as a supplementary option, covering all construction phases from mobilization through handover. You’ll build programs that are cost-loaded and resource-loaded, maintain change logs, monitor key performance indicators, and track EOTs, ensuring the plan reflects current progress and upcoming milestones. You’ll also work closely with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to keep everyone aligned with the baseline and to surface risks early, along with action plans directed by management. When delays occur, you’ll prepare look-ahead programs, progress reports, mitigation and recovery plans to steer the project back on course.

Regular site visits will serve to verify progress against the schedule and to confirm that activities occurring on the ground match the planned timelines, especially for projects in the UAE. You’ll need to weave the project milestones with the authorities’ processes for NOC approvals, traffic diversions, and permits, ensuring approvals and permissions stay in step with construction progress. You’ll focus on analyzing the critical path, float, and resource allocation to optimize timelines, and you’ll participate in project progress meetings, delivering updates to management and client representatives. A working knowledge of delay analysis methods, including Time Impact and Window analyses, and handling contractual correspondence will be part of your routine. Finally, you’ll keep project documentation, schedules, and reports up to date in coordination with the document control team and project controls peers.

Must-haves and nice-to-haves to stand out

  • Experience planning for maintenance, roads, and infrastructure construction projects
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least three years in a planning role on projects of similar size in the UAE, and involvement in at least two Dubai projects in the last three years
  • Proven ability with Primavera P6 and the MS Office suite
  • Strong English language skills and familiarity with Dubai’s procedures and standards
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • PMP certification (preferred)
  • Primavera P6 Professional Certification
  • Experience on UAE projects with clients like RTA, DM or similar
  • A civil engineering or construction management degree (preferred qualifications)

On pay, benefits and the practical side

This is a full-time, on-site position in Dubai.

Three or four tips to sharpen your application for this role

Put the Dubai experience front and center on your resume. List the maintenance, roads, and infrastructure projects you worked on in the Emirates, noting the size, your role, and the timeline for each project.

Demonstrate how you’ve used Primavera P6 to drive schedules. If you have cost-loaded or resource-loaded programs, or have prepared look-ahead schedules and recovery plans, spell out those examples and the outcomes you achieved.

Be ready to discuss how you handle coordination with authorities and approvals. Talk about NOC processes, traffic diversions, and the way you integrated milestones with permit and approval workflows in your previous roles.

Prepare to talk through a live or hypothetical delay scenario and walk through your Time Impact or Window Analysis approach, plus how you’d document and communicate the impact to management and clients. End with a thoughtful question about how the team currently manages approvals and client reporting on large Dubai projects.
