Production Employee
dormakabadormakaba’s Gliderol Garage Doors unit in Pinkenba, AU, is hiring for a Production Worker to join its onsite manufacturing team. Gliderol is one of Australia’s leading makers of sectional and roller doors, and this role helps deliver high-quality, Australian-made products on the factory floor. The company is looking for reliable, hands-on people who like rolling up their sleeves and contributing to a smooth-running production line.
The position sits in the production team and is a full-time, on-site role focused on assembling doors and components, operating machinery, and keeping quality at the fore. It’s a good fit for anyone who enjoys practical, team-based work and wants to contribute to daily output while learning in a big, global organisation.
If you value stable hours, practical work, and being part of a supportive team that takes pride in its product, this could be a solid match.
On the factory floor
Day by day, you’ll help assemble garage doors and the components that go with them, working along the production line and using both hand and power tools with care. You’ll move between different areas as needed, operating machinery and lending a hand where workflow demands, and you’ll perform quality checks to make sure every product meets the standard. When there’s material coming through the line, you’ll also pitch in with warehouse tasks like loading and unloading materials to keep the flow steady.
What you’ll bring to the line
To be considered, the team is looking for people who show up with a solid work ethic and a dependable mindset, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work well with others while following instructions. A willingness to handle physically demanding manual tasks in a fast-paced environment is also important.
- Reliable and hardworking with a record of showing up ready to work
- Commitment to health and safety practices on site
- Team player who can take directions and work with colleagues
- Physically capable of manual tasks in a busy production setting
Prior experience with tools or in a hands-on environment is helpful, and familiarity with warehouse or assembly settings is a plus.
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Exposure to warehouse or assembly environments
Pay, benefits and practical details
The role includes thorough in-house training, and no prior industry experience is required to get started. It is a stable, full-time position with consistent hours, giving you predictable days on the calendar. The schedule runs Monday to Thursday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm. There is free onsite parking, and you can access discounted health insurance through the company. Peers on the team are recognised through the AAA nominations and awards, and there’s a Wellbeing Committee focused on mental health, community engagement, diversity and inclusion, and amenities. WhereFit memberships provide discounts on gyms, apparel, and more.
Advice for applicants
Lead your resume with evidence of reliability and safety: mention any on-site safety training, shifts you’ve completed without incident, and your ability to work on a line with others to hit daily output targets.
Show concrete proof of the must-have skills: describe a time when you followed instructions on a production line, worked as part of a team, and contributed to a safe, efficient workflow on a busy shift.
Be ready to discuss hands-on experience with tools and fast-paced environments: give examples of using hand and power tools and how you handled physically demanding tasks while maintaining quality.
When you interview, ask about how the team balances quality checks with throughput, and what support or training is available to help you succeed on the line.
