Your Role:

We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at our Pōkeno manufacturing site, reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for executing purchasing activities for direct materials, ensuring business requirements are met in terms of ordering, availability, stockholding and quality. You will also support supplier performance monitoring and the management of quality-related incidents, while working closely with internal teams and external partners to support production requirements.

 

This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on, site-based environment, enjoys working closely with manufacturing, quality and warehouse teams, and takes pride in accuracy, follow-up and strong supplier relationships.

 

More specifically you will be involved in: 

  • Preparing and processing purchase orders in line with MRP requirements, lead times and purchasing parameters
  • Monitoring delivery schedules, managing overdue or delayed orders and maintaining shipment schedules for imported materials
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory levels, safety stocks and rolling forecasts for suppliers
  • Working with Finance and Warehouse teams to manage goods receipting, returns, credits, GRNI and GIRN
  • Coordinating with suppliers, logistics providers and customs agents to support timely material availability
  • Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance, documentation compliance and quality non-conformances
  • Supporting cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Planning and Scheduling teams

 

What you will bring:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment
  • Understanding of MRP, inventory control and purchasing processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems (NAV / Business Central advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food or dairy environments (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with suppliers
