Modine Manufacturing Company is hiring a full-time Quality Inspector for the 2nd shift in Calgary, onsite. The role centers on making sure every product meets engineering and quality standards before it ships, with tasks that include inspecting materials, interpreting plans, and supporting ongoing improvements on the production line. Modine is a global leader in thermal management with more than 13,000 employees, headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin, and operating across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

The successful candidate will bring a practical approach to quality, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work closely with the production team to uphold and improve process standards on the shop floor.

A day on the 2nd shift

On the shop floor, the inspector assesses incoming materials to confirm they meet requirements and studies plans, schedules, blueprints, and specifications to understand product design and tolerance expectations. They help ensure procedures are set to achieve quality standards and consistently apply them in daily work. Before products leave the facility, they perform final inspections, document non-conformances, and compile reports that track quality performance and compliance.

Documentation is a core part of the role; inspection findings are recorded and performance records are maintained. The position also involves sharing knowledge with the production team about quality-control processes and the standards that define product quality, helping everyone stay aligned on quality goals.

Modine is an equal-opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants.

Advice for applicants

Lead your resume with the most relevant quality-control experience, especially roles that involved incoming-material checks, plan and blueprint reviews, and final inspections prior to shipment.

Show how you apply quality principles in real-world situations and highlight a concrete time when you identified a non-conformance, documented it, and led corrective actions that improved the line’s outcomes.

Be ready to talk about how you’ve educated or guided production teams on QC processes and how you’ve kept inspection documentation and performance reports up to date.

Ask a practical question about the role, such as what metrics define success for the 2nd shift and how non-conformances are typically handled and tracked within the team.
