Internship
On-site
Melbourne, AU

Anker Innovations, a global technology company focused on smart manufacturing and industrial automation, is looking for a Regional Sales Manager for Australia to join its Melbourne team. This onsite internship targets a Class of 2027 graduate and welcomes applicants from all degree backgrounds. A valid work visa for Australia is required to be considered for the role.

The position puts you in the thick of the regional sales engine, working with enterprise and channel clients across borders and guiding the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and needs discovery to demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and contract signing, while owning delivery and renewals. You’ll team up with marketing to shape regional growth plans, track how well leads convert, and review ROI. You’ll coordinate with internal teams across product, delivery, customer service, legal, and supply chain to ensure customer success and repeat business. The role also supports developing project materials for local channel, e-commerce, and retail partnerships, and you’ll pull together localized industry insights on competitors, pricing, channels, and compliance to refine scalable growth playbooks and SOPs. Travel to client visits and international trade shows may be part of the job.

Guiding regional growth from Melbourne

A typical day centers on building and sustaining relationships with enterprise and channel partners while shepherding a deal from prospect to closing and ensuring smooth delivery through to renewal. You’ll move quickly between conversations, demos, and proposal reviews, always keeping the customer outcome in focus and coordinating with cross-functional teammates to resolve blockers and deliver value.

You’ll work closely with marketing to roll out regional growth initiatives, think industry events like trade shows and roadshows, plus online campaigns, and you’ll monitor lead conversion and ROI to learn what drives results. When a deal is signed, you’ll pull in the right people from product, delivery, customer service, legal, and supply chain to implement and support the customer through onboarding and ongoing use. You’ll also help prepare materials for local channel partners, e-commerce teams, and retail partnerships, while collecting and translating localized industry insights into practical growth playbooks and standard operating procedures.

The role suits someone who can combine a hands-on approach with a methodical mindset, working well with a global team and being comfortable with travel as needed to meet clients and represent the company at industry events.

What you’ll bring to the table

Here’s what the team is prioritizing, with the must-haves first and some nice-to-haves tucked in.

  • Graduating in 2027 with a bachelor’s degree or higher; all majors are welcome.
  • A genuine interest in B2B or B2C sales, backed by strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills, with any track record of closing deals or forming partnerships through student clubs, competitions, or internships counted as a plus.
  • A results-driven mindset that uses data to justify strategy and to demonstrate outcomes.
  • A quick learner who can pick up new tools and processes fast and is willing to travel for client visits and international trade shows.
  • Nice-to-have: experience supporting partnerships or customer acquisition through campus activities, competitions, or internships.
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to trade shows, online campaigns, or e-commerce partnerships as part of a program or project.

Advice for applicants

Lead with what matters most to this role: show in your resume how you’ve built partnerships or closed deals through campus activities or internships, and highlight any enterprise or channel experience, even if it was in a student project or a competition.

When you describe your must-have skills, foreground concrete, data-backed outcomes. For example, note how you used metrics to drive a sales approach, the size of the opportunity you influenced, and the tangible results you achieved in a project or internship.

In interviews, be ready to walk through examples of coordinating across product, delivery, customer service, legal, and supply chain to deliver customer value. You may be asked to outline a regional growth scenario or ROI rationale, so have a short, structured case ready that demonstrates your approach.

Finally, consider a thoughtful question to end the conversation: ask how the Australia region prioritizes growth from campus hires, what the immediate milestones are for this internship, or how success is measured in the first three months.
