Tips to help you stand out in this role
Start your resume by highlighting your education and any hospitality or hotel-school training, then show how you’ve applied those foundations in real front-office or guest-services roles. Give a quick, concrete example of a time you balanced multiple guest requests or coordinated with several departments to deliver a seamless experience.
In the must-have area, bring evidence of your English proficiency, describe a situation where clear communication made a guest interaction smoother or defused a stressful moment. If you have office and clerical experience, attach a short anecdote about a time you maintained accurate records or a busy schedule under pressure.
Be prepared for interview questions about safety and emergency procedures, as well as how you would maintain excellent service during high-occupancy periods. You may also be asked to discuss your familiarity with hotel software or your process for handling wake-up calls and reservations; have a concise, concrete example ready.
Finally, if you’re meeting the team, consider asking a practical question about how the Royal Services team collaborates with other departments to deliver guest safety and memorable experiences, and how success is measured in this role. A thoughtful question signals you’ve thought through the day-to-day and the impact you’d have on the guest journey.
