Tips for applicants
Lead with your aviation medicine credentials and your HAAD license, then your total years of experience, highlighting at least five years in aviation medicine and ten years overall. Put the most relevant qualifications at the top so the panel sees immediately that you meet the must-haves.
Describe concrete cases that prove you can determine fit-to-fly and handle emergencies in a medical setting, and include examples of policy or procedure development and any data-driven reporting you contributed to. Show how you collaborated with other healthcare professionals to keep air crew safe and compliant.
Expect interview questions about navigating HAAD and GCAA regulations and give them scenarios where you applied these standards in real situations. Be ready to discuss how you collected, interpreted and presented data to management, and how that informed decisions about care pathways or preventive medicine.
Ask about how the team partners with external healthcare providers to refine clinical care pathways for air crew, and whether there are opportunities to influence aviation-medicine policies or updates to regulatory guidelines. A thoughtful question like that signals you understand the role’s impact beyond daily clinical work.
