We’re looking for a Senior Bid Writer to join our high‑performing Major Projects Win Work team, producing compelling proposals for major infrastructure projects, including $100M+ projects.

In this role, you’ll contribute significantly to end‑to‑end bid processes, from RFPs through to lessons learnt, and take pride in knowing you’ve played a pivotal part in securing projects that deliver vital infrastructure and strengthen communities across Aotearoa.

Working as part of a collaborative and successful bid team, you will be responsible for compiling high‑value tender responses, crafting persuasive content for competitive bids,  providing technical and compliance information, and driving continuous improvement in the quality and success rate of our submissions.

Though every day will be different, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Confidently leading and executing end‑to‑end bid writing processes for production of excellent and on-time written content
  • Managing input from a diverse team to produce compliant, compelling and succinct tender responses
  • Helping develop clear win strategies and themes, and weaving these consistently through submissions
  • Liaising with, enabling and supporting Subject Matter Experts to develop captivating, evidence‑based content
  • Translating complex technical information into plain English for a range of stakeholders
  • Reviewing submission performance, analysing client feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and networks
  • Conducting customer and market research, maintaining an in‑depth understanding of client objectives, strategies and plans to inform exceptional submission content

A confident, experienced writer and a curious, creative thinker, with the confidence to drive the development of winning solutions and consistently deliver high‑quality submissions. You enjoy working in a close‑knit, dynamic team and thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

You will bring:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar bid, proposal or technical writing role
  • Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to synthesise multiple inputs into one clear, consistent voice
  • Excellent literacy skills and a professional written style
  • A solid understanding of the markets we operate in and a genuine passion for writing
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organisation, time management and multi‑tasking skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work closely with, and in support of, technical experts – asking great questions and extracting accurate, relevant information
  • A strong sense of ownership, with the drive to close out actions and follow through
  • A genuine passion for conveying ideas and influencing outcomes through the written word
  • The ability to perform under pressure and remain focused on delivering to deadlines
  • (Bonus) Experience in use of AI and the ability to harness AI tools to complement, not replace, your already excellent writing skills
