Bouygues Construction Australia is looking for a Senior Contracts Administrator to join the Perth team on a full-time, onsite basis. The role sits at the heart of governance, contract management and project delivery on Civil infrastructure, engineering and energy projects. Bouygues has proudly operated in Australia for more than 25 years, backed by significant global expertise and resourcing.

The Senior Contracts Administrator will lead the Contractor’s interface with Defence and the Contract Administrator, ensuring strong coordination of project governance, reporting, programme and contractual deliverables. It’s a role for someone who communicates clearly, resolves issues promptly and helps keep complex projects on track. The opportunity suits someone who enjoys practical, hands-on coordination and wants to contribute to nation-shaping work.

Bouygues Construction Australia values diversity and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

Day-to-day impact on a major project

In this role you’ll be the main point of contact among the Contractor, Defence and the Contract Administrator for contractual and project administration matters, and you’ll represent the Contractor’s interests in meetings with tact and professionalism. You’ll also drive governance activities by organizing meetings, action registers, reporting cycles and document control so governance remains tight and auditable.

Expect to keep a careful eye on contractual obligations, notices, submissions, approvals and deliverables, making sure they’re managed accurately and within required timeframes. You’ll coordinate programme-related reporting, tracking dependencies, milestones, delays and new or emerging risks to keep the project aligned with its schedule.

You’ll prepare, review and distribute project reports, correspondence, meeting minutes and contract administration records, while building and maintaining effective relationships with project stakeholders. When issues arise, you’ll escalate them in a constructive, timely way and help drive resolution.

Attendance at required project meetings is part of the role, and you’ll be on site when reasonably necessary to support coordination, stakeholder engagement and delivery requirements. You’ll also identify contractual, programme and delivery risks and contribute to practical mitigation plans, all while maintaining accurate, organised, auditable project records in line with company and project requirements.

Tips to help you stand out for this contract leadership role

Lead your resume with examples of how you have managed contract obligations, notices, submissions and approvals on complex projects, including the outcomes and timelines you helped achieve.

Be ready in interviews to walk through a contract interpretation you led, how you read the contract documents, project specs and commercial correspondence to inform a decision or protect the project’s interests.

Prepare to discuss on-site coordination and stakeholder engagement, including how you built relationships, resolved issues and kept governance moving even when pressures were high.

Ask a precise question about the programme’s risk mitigation and dependency management, how dependencies are tracked and how practical mitigations are integrated into governance to keep milestones on track.
