Li Auto is seeking a Senior Manager of EU Market Access to join the Munich team on a full-time, onsite basis. This role sits at the core of how the company enters and operates in European markets, blending regulatory strategy with product compliance and after-sales considerations. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys shaping policy, building bridges with authorities, and guiding cross-functional teams through complex regulatory landscapes.

Based in Munich, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to help Li Auto establish a local manufacturing footprint and ensure all vehicles and services align with EU requirements. The position targets someone who thrives on solving intricate regulatory puzzles and creating durable partnerships with regulators and technical service providers.

Charting the EU market access pathway

In Enterprise Access, you’ll study the latest EU policies affecting designated markets and influence Li Auto’s factory footprint strategy to stay compliant. You’ll lead engagements with EU governments to advance the knock-down factory establishment, coordinating with internal teams to keep timelines realistic and risk under control.

On the Product Access side, you’ll help build a thorough database of EU automotive regulations, policies and taxes, and you’ll forecast regulatory trends to guide R&D in developing next-generation, compliant products. You’ll coordinate with EU Technical Services and local test labs to plan homologation activities and tests, ensuring Li Auto is ready for market entry.

For after-sales and public affairs, you’ll support communications about market surveillance of Li Auto’s vehicles, components and services such as AI and automated driving, working with local government to ensure accurate public messaging and ongoing compliance.

Your essential qualifications

Here's what you must bring to the role to succeed:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field
  • More than ten years of hands-on experience in vehicle homologation or automotive compliance, with direct experience on EU WVTA and UNECE projects
  • Established connections with EU automotive authorities, industry associations, and technical service providers
  • A deep understanding of EU legislation, EU regulatory systems, UNECE regulations, and related automotive policies
  • Strong English proficiency and excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to manage homologation projects under pressure, with a self-motivated, target-driven, proactive and creative approach

Plus factors that can help you stand out

Beyond the essentials, these extras could help you hit the ground running:

  • Experience with CE, REACH, or GDPR compliance is a plus
  • Knowledge of zero-emission vehicle standards (ZEV) and ADAS regulations

Advice for applicants

Lead your resume with your EU market access wins, especially any hands-on work with EU WVTA or UNECE projects and your network with EU authorities and technical services.

In your examples of must-have skills, include a concise case where you navigated negotiations with regulators or steered a homologation project to a successful outcome under tight timelines, and quantify results where possible.

Be prepared to walk interviewers through how you approach EU legislation, UNECE regulations, and coordination with EU Technical Services and test labs, including a concrete example of building a regulatory database or playbook that guided a project to completion.

You might close with a thoughtful question about Li Auto’s EU market access strategy, such as how the company plans to balance regulatory compliance with the timeline for establishing the knock-down factory and expanding in Europe.
