Day-to-day in the Paytech space
The Senior Software Engineer will steer the technical direction of a cross-functional agile team, guiding architectural decisions while still getting hands-on with development. You’ll help translate complex business needs into scalable, reliable software that aligns with business objectives.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Scrum Masters to convert requirements into practical technical solutions, while mentoring engineers and promoting DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks. Security, scalability and maintainability sit at the core of delivery across the full software lifecycle.
In addition, you’ll take part in sprint planning, participate in code reviews and help refine the backlog. Staying current with new technologies and evaluating their fit for Edenred’s platforms will also be part of keeping the team on the front foot, and you’ll contribute to the design and testing of the platform within the sprint team to meet published metrics and quality benchmarks.

Advice for applicants
Your resume should open with your strongest Java and leadership experience, especially where you’ve guided cross-functional teams and delivered enterprise-grade applications.
When you describe your must-have skills, include concrete examples of architecture decisions you’ve influenced, DevOps improvements you’ve implemented and security or performance optimisations you’ve delivered, with any measurable outcomes.
For interviews, be ready to discuss how you have steered design choices, modernised platforms, and mentored engineers in real-world projects. Practice explaining trade-offs between different architectures and how you balance speed of delivery with reliability and security.
Asking a targeted question can set you apart. Consider asking how Edenred Paytech measures platform reliability and what their current cloud-native roadmap looks like, including how they approach observability and incident response in production.
