Exyte is looking for a Senior Space Manager (m/f/d) to join the Stuttgart team. The role sits at the heart of the design and construction phases for complex facilities, with a strong focus on projects in the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries. It’s an onsite position in Stuttgart, ideal for someone who enjoys steering cross‑discipline design and shaping how spaces and systems come together from concept through construction.

This position suits a professional who likes collaboration and hands-on influence over layouts, equipment placements, and access routes. You’ll work with discipline leads, project managers, design managers, vendors and 3D design leads to ensure the design remains safe, constructible and maintainable while meeting technical requirements and loads.

In short, you’ll help translate multi‑disciplinary needs into practical, well-coordinated layouts and 3D concepts, guiding the design team and supporting field teams during execution to keep projects on track.

Designing multi-discipline layouts in Stuttgart

In this role you’ll coordinate design aspects across disciplines and contribute technically to how layouts develop, including the definition of functional areas and the setup of shafts, bridges, pipe racks, system distribution, equipment layout arrangements, media tunnels and maintenance platforms.

You’ll ensure all MEP requirements are captured and tracked for implementation within the CSA scope, taking into account not only spatial layouts but the loads and other technical demands that shape the design.

You’ll collaborate with disciplines, the project manager, the design manager, vendors and 3D designer leads, offering feedback on design quality, calling out critical issues, and making sure attention is given where it matters most.

You’ll establish conceptual guidelines for the 3D design team so that key elements, such as shafts, pipe racks, bridges and media tunnels, are reflected in their work.

Construction management and field engineering receive support from you during the execution phase, while you look to improve safety, constructability and maintainability of the final design.

Your essential toolkit

Here's what you’ll bring to the project.

  • Hands-on background in plant design with familiarity across multiple engineering disciplines
  • A technical grounding as an engineer in an MEP discipline or CSA is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret layout documents, PDFs, textual data and 3D models
  • Proven coordination skills with a systems-minded approach to planning
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Proficiency with MS Office and hands-on experience with Revit, BIM Track and AutoCAD

Extras that help you stand out.

  • A demonstrated openness to using AI tools in engineering and design

What you’ll gain on and off the clock

Exyte begins with a two‑day onboarding event to help you settle in with the team.

The Stuttgart site offers spacious workstations with height‑adjustable desks to support comfortable, productive days.

A buddy system helps you get up to speed with several weeks of close familiarisation with colleagues in the team.

There’s flexibility around work-life balance, including the possibility of switching to mobile working where appropriate.

On each floor you’ll find free coffee specialties and water dispensers to keep you refreshed during the day.

Exyte subsidises your fitness contract through Qualitrain at over 5,000 locations in Germany, helping you stay active.

Tips to shine in this role

Lead your resume with your plant-design experience and your ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines, then back it up with concrete projects where you defined functional areas and managed 3D design concepts.

When you demonstrate the must-haves, share specific examples of how you analyzed design data from layout drawings, PDFs and 3D models, and how you coordinated with discipline leads and project managers to keep interfaces aligned.

In interviews, be ready to describe collaborations with vendors, design managers and 3D leads, and to talk about how you improved safety, constructability or maintainability in past designs.

Ask a focused question about AI in their design workflow, for example how AI tools are being explored or integrated into the engineering and design processes.
