Bouygues Construction Australia is recruiting for a Social Procurement Manager to drive local supplier participation on major civil infrastructure, engineering and energy projects. The company has been delivering in Australia for more than 25 years, drawing on global expertise to support local delivery.

The role is focused on designing and implementing a Local Industry Capability Plan that creates real opportunities for Western Australian and regional businesses to participate in project procurement and delivery. It’s a hands-on position that blends strategy with coordination, reporting and stakeholder engagement, and it’s based onsite in Perth on a full-time basis.

Bouygues Construction Australia values diversity and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

If turning policy into practical action, working with local industry groups and suppliers, and delivering progress updates appeals to you, this could be a good fit.

Shaping local opportunity in WA

You’ll develop, maintain and implement the Local Industry Capability Plan in line with project requirements and relevant policies, identifying procurement packages and delivery activities that offer practical opportunities for WA and regional businesses.

Working with project, procurement, commercial and delivery teams, you’ll weave local industry participation into procurement planning and help ensure teams understand and meet commitments. You’ll engage with local and regional businesses, industry groups and stakeholders to share upcoming opportunities and project requirements.

You’ll support suppliers and subcontractors to understand and meet local participation commitments, monitor local participation and procurement outcomes against targets, and collect, verify and maintain accurate participation data and supporting records. You’ll prepare required progress reports, dashboards and other project updates, identify risks or gaps in local participation and recommend practical actions to address them, and promote inclusive, transparent and accessible procurement processes. You’ll attend relevant meetings and provide advice on local industry capability matters.

What you’ll need to bring

The right candidate will hold a relevant qualification in procurement, business, project management, community development or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Experience delivering social procurement, local industry participation or supplier engagement in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to design plans, monitor performance and produce progress reports.
  • Familiarity with local industry participation, social procurement and supply-chain engagement concepts.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier engagement and contract or project delivery requirements.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for local and regional businesses to participate in project work.
