Position SummaryThe Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for commissioning, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing industrial equipment at customer sites and in-house. This hands-on role supports equipment wiring, system testing, research and development activities, and technical documentation. The position works closely with Engineering to support new applications and equipment while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Once trained, the technician operates with minimal supervision and provides advanced technical support in both domestic and international field service environments.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform high- and low-voltage equipment wiring, including PLC wiring, both in-house and in the fieldApply advanced wiring techniques such as cutting, terminating, soldering, and crimping, with proper selection of wire and cable typesRead and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsTroubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test industrial equipment and subsystemsCommission and install equipment at customer sitesTravel to domestic and international customer locations to provide installation, service, and technical supportCommunicate professionally with customers, providing clear guidance and technical explanationsTrain customers on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshootingProvide remote technical support using desktop and communication toolsDocument technical issues, solutions, and service activities accurately and in a timely mannerPrepare detailed field service reports and procedural documentationSupport the rollout of new applications and equipment in collaboration with engineering teamsAdhere to all safety policies, procedures, and quality standardsIdentify potential service opportunities, including preventative maintenance needsParticipate in after-hours, on-call, and 24/7 service support as requiredAssist in mentoring and supporting less experienced technical staffPerform other duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsTechnical Skills and Experience:Demonstrated experience with industrial equipment wiring, electrical schematics, and electrical measurement instrumentsStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issuesExperience operating independently after trainingProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipmentExperience using remote desktop applicationsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general software applications
