Stage ingénieur : Plateforme d’émulation pour validation de logiciel embarqué (H/F)
NXP SemiconductorsNXP Semiconductors is looking for a final-year intern to join its NFC Software team in Caen, France. This group is responsible for delivering firmware and middleware that power NFC components found in a wide range of mobile devices and connected objects, enabling secure payments, access control, and secure data exchange at scale. The six-month, onsite internship offers hands-on exposure to internal validation tools and the platform used to validate embedded software. It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys software development, is curious about hardware interactions, and can operate with English in an international setting.
Based in Caen, the NFC Software team develops the validation tools that support the operation of these NFC components. The role is designed to give you practical experience working on a platform that must validate software across diverse hardware and scenarios, with opportunities to contribute to the growth of the validation ecosystem and to see your work deployed at scale.
If you’re passionate about software and eager to learn quickly in a collaborative environment, this internship will place you at the crossroads of embedded software, validation methodologies, and automation, with real impact on a product used globally.
Shaping validation tools for the NFC platform
In your day-to-day you will analyze requirements and propose technical solutions to validate embedded software systems, helping the team translate needs into concrete validation approaches.
You will evolve the simulation platform to support a new embedded product and broaden its coverage to additional hardware peripherals, ensuring the platform remains aligned with real-world hardware and use cases.
You'll implement extra validation and debugging methods, which may include AI-based techniques, and you will automate test benches while linking them to an automated testing framework such as Jenkins to streamline verification.
What you’ll need to succeed
You should bring a clear foundation and the right mindset for this role. Final-year status in an engineering school (Master 2) or a Master’s degree, with a focus on Industrial Computing or Computer Science, is expected.
- Final year of an engineering program or Master’s degree (Master 2) with a focus on Industrial Computing or Computer Science
- Solid software development background covering architectures, C, Python, and C#, along with familiarity with validation methods
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to work in an international environment
- A genuine passion for software development and the ability to learn new technical topics quickly
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with embedded software development or validation on hardware platforms
- Exposure to AI-based validation or debugging approaches
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and Jenkins or similar platforms
Compensation and logistics
This is a six-month, onsite internship in Caen, France, aligned with the final-year student status.
Advice for applicants
Start your résumé by placing your final-year student status and your embedded software work at the top, then highlight concrete projects that show your use of C, Python, and C# and any validation-related experience.
Back up your must-have skills with real examples from school projects or internships. Demonstrate your understanding of software and hardware architectures and your approach to validation methods, not just theory.
Be ready to walk through a concrete approach for extending a simulation platform to support a new embedded product, including how you would add new hardware peripherals and what validation or debugging methods you would apply, possibly using AI techniques.
Have a thoughtful question ready to ask about the validation workflow, such as how the current toolchain integrates with Jenkins and what role AI-based approaches might play in future validation efforts.
