Goodman is seeking a Technical Security Program Manager to strengthen the security backbone of its expanding Continental European data centre portfolio. Goodman develops, owns and manages logistics facilities and data centres that support the movement of goods and the digital economy, with a footprint across Europe and a focus on reliable, safe operations. The Paris role is hybrid, blending time on site with flexible remote work, and it will appeal to someone who enjoys turning complex security designs into dependable, well-governed systems.

The Technical Security Program Manager will serve as the technical authority for security-system readiness, acceptance and sustained performance. This position integrates design work, construction and testing readiness (about 70% of the role) with post‑RFS stabilisation, lifecycle assurance, defect resolution, optimisation and continuous improvement (about 30%). It’s not merely a commissioning post; it’s about ensuring security systems perform reliably from the initial concept through live operations.

If you’re energized by translating security architecture into practical, auditable outcomes, coordinating with vendors and multidisciplinary teams, and driving enduring improvements in data-centre security, you’ll likely feel at home in this role.

A day in the life of a security program manager

You’ll own and shape the commissioning strategy, guiding the framework from design reviews through readiness for handover, including the test stages, evidence requirements and independent validation points. You’ll also review security designs and integration architectures to confirm that systems are buildable, resilient, testable and maintainable while meeting operational needs. In parallel, you’ll lead the technical delivery across core security platforms, overseeing configuration work, functional and integrated testing, diagnostics, remediation and performance tuning to keep systems aligned with performance targets.

Quality during construction matters, so you’ll inspect cabling, containment, devices, field panels and control rooms, enforcing quality gates before energisation, testing and handover. You’ll maintain objective evidence, configuration baselines and decision records, report risks clearly, and advise the Physical Security Lead and Operations Team on readiness and acceptance. Governance is a key part of the job, as you’ll direct integrators, contractors, commissioning agents and specialist vendors while retaining internal ownership of assurance and acceptance decisions. After RFS, you’ll lead the stabilisation period, track defects to closure and ensure temporary overrides or incomplete configurations are removed. Finally, you’ll monitor operational performance, analyse recurring faults and coordinate improvements with Operations, ICT, vendors and platform owners, turning operational feedback into better standards, tests and configuration controls across the portfolio.

The core qualifications you’ll bring

  • A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building services, construction management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Seven years or more in electronic security systems engineering, commissioning or technical assurance, including work with complex integrated systems
  • Hands-on experience with data centres or comparable critical infrastructure, with a solid grasp of operational risk, resilience and change control
  • Extensive knowledge of access control and identity systems, CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, control rooms and interfaces with ICT, BMS, fire and monitoring platforms
  • A proven track record of troubleshooting technical and integration issues, evaluating objective test evidence and driving defects to durable resolution
  • Experience leading contractors, integrators and multidisciplinary stakeholders through design, construction, testing, handover and live operations
  • Strong judgement and clear communication, able to explain technical risk, cost and operational consequences to leadership, customers and delivery teams
  • Professional-level English and willingness to travel across the Continental European data centre portfolio as project and operational needs require

Rewards and practicalities in Paris

  • A competitive fixed compensation
  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • Eligibility to participate in Goodman’s share scheme (if applicable)
  • An electric company car with a European charging card, or car allowance
  • Continuous learning and development opportunities
  • Flexible working arrangements (one day of working from home per week)
  • A collaborative culture supported by team events and social activities
  • An ergonomic workplace in our state-of-the-art offices
  • Additional country-specific benefits

Tips to help you stand out for this security role

Lead your resume with the security systems engineering and data centre experience that aligns with this role, and spotlight seven or more years in electronic security engineering, commissioning or technical assurance for complex integrated systems.

When you describe your must-have skills, give concrete proof: show how you’ve driven commissioning strategy, validated designs and gathered evidence, and how you resolved defects to a durable solution.

Prepare to discuss a particularly challenging defect you led cross-functionally, including how you managed stakeholders, maintained baselines and documented decisions and risks for leadership.

Ask a precise, thoughtful question about the role’s impact: how Goodman measures readiness across the Continental European data centre portfolio and how the security program collaborates with Operations and ICT to drive ongoing improvements.
