    Newhaul is seeking an experienced Training Superintendent to lead the company’s technical training function and drive a consistent, high-performing training standard across our Roads, Port and Workshop divisions.

    This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for setting the strategy, governance and execution of all technical training, ensuring our people are trained to the Newhaul Standard of safety, compliance and performance.

    Job Description

    What Success Looks Like

    • Develop and deliver a company-wide technical training and compliance strategy aligned to operational and regulatory requirements
    • Continuously improve training materials, including learning modules, SOPs, assessment tools, trainer guides, participant workbooks and practical evaluation resources.
    • Partner with business leaders to forecast capability needs and build internal training capacity
    • Translate operational requirements, safety standards and compliance obligations into structured, user-friendly training content and delivered consistently across all sites.
    • Ensure training materials are standardised, controlled, version-managed and audit-ready
    • Lead, coach and support the Trainer network across Roads and Port operations
    • Build structured career pathways for Drivers, Mechanics and Port Operators
    • Develop internal train-the-trainer capability and succession pipelines
    • Ensure alignment between site training activity and operational priorities

    Qualifications

    What You Bring

    • Several years' experience in technical training with operational capability in transport, logistics, mining
    • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
    • Ideally the right candidate has an MC licence
    • Demonstrated experience designing, developing and maintaining technical training materials and assessment tools
    • Proven experience delivering on-road training and coaching models
    • Lead a small team of Training Coordinators, Driver Trainers and technical instructors
    • Strong knowledge of NHVAS, CoR and heavy-vehicle compliance and LMS systems
    • Ability to balance hands-on delivery of training with strategic leadership
