Shaping verification and validation across major defence programs
As the Verification & Validation Engineering Specialist, you will act as the technical authority for V&V on complex Defence programs, guiding critical engineering and delivery choices across the lifecycle.
You will lead and assure V&V strategies, methodologies and artefacts across the full systems engineering lifecycle, setting the standard for how verification is planned and executed.
You will help resolve challenging system integration and verification problems in large System-of-Systems environments, and provide independent technical reviews across plans, governance and major milestones.
Alongside this, you will engage with senior customers, technical authorities and multidisciplinary engineering teams to secure robust outcomes and mentor others to grow capability, driving process improvements and new tools and practices.
What you’ll bring to the table
To be considered for this senior role, these core qualifications matter most:
- More than 20 years in the Defence industry with broad experience across the engineering lifecycle from requirements and architecture through integration, verification, validation and acceptance testing
- Recognised as a subject matter expert in at least one domain such as Systems Architecture, System Integration/Verification & Validation, Command & Control, Radar or Communications
- Proven ability to provide senior technical leadership and influence engineering outcomes across large-scale, complex Defence systems and multidisciplinary programs
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering, integration and V&V methodologies, with the ability to provide technical assurance and resolve highly complex engineering challenges
- A Master’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and mentoring capability, with the ability to engage senior customers, technical authorities and engineering leaders while developing capability in others
- NV1 security clearance and the ability to handle Export Controlled information
- Proficiency in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
