About the Role


The Workplace Relations team are looking for a Workplace Relations Advisor to coordinate workplace relations activities and programs of work to support the provision of a high-quality service across the organisation.  The focus of these activities is to ensure consistency in workplace relations governance and reporting functions to internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Key Responsibilities:


Support to the Workplace Relations team, to: 
•    Coordinate the Internal Complaints process workflow, including triage, case management, and providing advice to People Delivery Teams on Internal Complaints processes.
•    Coordinate the development and publication of regular workplace relations newsletter.
•    Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Metro procedures and processes and relevant  legislation.
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing of documentation, ensuing confidentiality.   
•    Manage the input of data for reporting and dashboards. 
•    Prepare reports and presentations. 
•    Coordinate and distribute workplace relations documentation and communications. 
•    Coordinate the WR Training Roster. 
•    Manage and coordinate team events and initiatives, such as planning days. 
•    Coordinate workplace relations projects / programs of work as directed by the Senior Workplace Relations Managers and/or Head of Workplace Relations & Injury Management.
•    Support the development of policies, procedures, standards, toolkits, and other relevant documents to support best practice management of workplace relations issues for our People Integrated Management System. 
•    Provide advice and support to People Delivery teams and operational leaders on workplace relations matters.  
•    Support the Workplace Relations team with case management. 
•    Support the onboarding process for the Workplace Relations team including procurement of hardware, PPE etc. 
•    Foster positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  
•    Positively contribute to the objectives of the Workplace Relations team and wider Safety & People Division. 
•    Coordinate and assist in managing the workplace relations budget including managing expenses, purchase orders and credit card. 
•    Working collaboratively with members of the People Delivery Team and operational managers to build and embed greater capability in relation to employee relations best practice, risk management and compliance. 
•    Any other duties as specified by manager.   

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:


•    Relevant experience demonstrated interest or qualifications in either industrial relations or related field. 
•    Previous experience in IR/ER or related field including providing advice to stakeholders in a unionised environment. 
•    Requirement to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week. 
•    Capability to apply discretion and sound judgment in managing sensitive matters and highly confidential or sensitive information. 
•    Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.  
•    Strong stakeholder management experience to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in a complex and politically and industrially sensitive environment.  
•    Solid report writing, analytical ability and critical thinking with the ability to work autonomously. 
•    Ability to prepare engaging presentations and documents to support people initiatives.
