Shaping the cabin: day-to-day duties
You’ll lead the development of interior CAS digital models, keeping a close eye on proportion, surface finish, and how well the model communicates the design intent.
You’ll also allocate workload within the modelling team in line with studio priorities and project timelines, ensuring alignment with design and engineering leaders.
Collaboration sits at the heart of the role as you work with interior designers and engineering teams to confirm feasibility and maintain alignment with overall concepts.
Additional responsibilities include guiding the creation and refinement of interior Class-A / CAS digital surfaces, supporting design reviews by presenting models at key milestones, and pushing for improvements in modelling workflows and best practices.
You’ll mentor fellow CAS modellers, offer constructive feedback on surfacing and proportions, and help run cross-functional review sessions and workshops with design and engineering teams.
Your core qualifications
To be considered, the following must-haves describe the ideal profile:
- A degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience with automotive digital modelling, including leadership or coordination responsibilities
- A solid grasp of the automotive design development process from concept to production
- Advanced capability with digital modelling tools such as Alias, Blender, VRED, or similar software
- Strong talent for translating design sketches and concepts into precise 3D surfaces
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational ability to manage several projects within defined timelines
- Professional working proficiency in English
